James Patrick GrandPre, 87, of Denton , Texas passed away on October 29, 2016 at his home. He was bon on October 28, 1929 in Bottineau , North Dakota to Leo J. and Mae (Arneson) GrandPre.

He graduated from Dickson High School in 1947 and was a member of the Army National Guard from 1944-1950. He Married Marilynn Keller in Ft. Rucker , Alabama in 1951. He was an Army Airborne Infantry Commander during the Korean War holding the rank of Captain. He retired from E.I. DuPont in 1988 as the Marketing Director.

He is a lifetime member of the 82 ^nd Airborn Division Association, a member of the American Legion, Society of Explosives Engineer's and a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Airline Pilot.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilynn GrandPre, daughters, Kimberly McAuliffe of Vero Beach , Florida , Suzanne Williams of Flower Mound, Texas , seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Son, James Todd GrandPre and daughter, Deborah GrandPre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be held at the D/FW National Cemetery in Dallas Texas at 1:15 P.M.
