Obituary

James Marion Halton (Hal) Guin of Krugerville, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2013. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Irma L. Guin; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Frank Sudduth; grandchildren and their spouses, Blake and Dana Sudduth, Lauren and Colin Denison; brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Ann Guin; and six nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Rosa Guin; father and mother-in-law, Ellis and Zelpher Lollar; sister and brother-in-law Loyette and Dempsey Lollar.

Hal was born in New Hope, Mississippi on October 24, 1932. He was a graduate of New Hope High School, class of 1950. He lived most of his adult life in Jackson, Mississippi then moved to Texas ten years ago to be close to his daughter and her family. He was a jack of many trades having been a dairy farmer with his father, a fireman, a homebuilder with his father-in-law and owner of a food brokerage company.

Hal enjoyed spending time with his family, talking with people, hunting, fishing, gardening and sharing vegetables from his garden with others. He had a strong work ethic and a generous spirit. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 2:00 followed by a memorial service at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in memory of Halton Guin, 1306 E. Windsor Drive, Denton, TX 76209.
