IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James (Jimmy)
Harold Jordan
August 16, 1941 – December 8, 2020
James (Jimmy) Harold Jordan - loving husband, father, grandfather - slipped into the arms of His Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the age of 79.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14 at 1:00pm at Roselawn Memorial Park Pavilion in Denton, Texas. The family will receive friends between 11am-12:30pm on Monday prior to the graveside service at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton.
Jimmy was born on August 16, 1941 in Garvin, Oklahoma to Harold and Margaret Jordan. As a child, he moved several times growing up, but he spent his high school years in Odessa, Texas where he was part of the first graduating class of Odessa Permian High School. In 1967, he moved to Farmington, New Mexico where he met and married Janell, the love of his life, in 1970. He was a wonderful husband, loyal and attentive. They got to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this past February with family and friends in Texas. Jimmy was also a loving father to 2 children, and a loving "Pop" to 5 grandchildren.
Jimmy worked at Vinson Supply Company (later Redman Industries) for over 40 years with a brief retirement after his 30th year. However, retirement didn't last long, and he was rehired to work for another 10 years visiting with customers that he had served for so long. Loyalty was one of his strongest qualities and being a good conversationalist was another. Building relationships, especially one-on-one, came easy to him. Even until the final days, Jimmy would
spend time on the phone each day talking to friends from many states.
Jimmy loved building street rods and attending car shows. He also loved boating and fishing, especially on the San Juan River. But he loved watching his kids play sports when they were young the most. Family meant everything to him, and he proved that in the memories he made with them and in showing up for all of their activities.
After living in Farmington for 40 years, Jimmy and Janell moved to Northlake, Texas in 2007 to be closer to family. They attended Cross Timbers Community Church in Argyle where they participated in a small group and were surrounded by many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Janell Jordan; son Justin Jordan of Meridian, Idaho, and wife Denise; daughter Jennifer Hultman of Hawthorne Woods, IL and husband Greg; and 5 grandchildren: Bailey Jordan, JD Jordan, Grace Jordan, Landon Hultman and Allison Hultman. He is also survived by his sister, Marla Hensley of New Braunfels, Texas and
husband Joe.
Thank you for the many calls, texts and messages during this time describing the kind and gentle man Jimmy was.
