James Roger Horn, 82 of Corinth passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 in Denton. He was born on Sept. 16, 1935 in Huntington, Ind. to Lawrence and Mary Ethel (Schoch) Horn.

As a veteran in the U.S. Air Force, Jim was one who loved the vastness of the sky. He left us to forever explore the wild blue wonder. After a career in the Air Force, he moved to Denton with his family in 1975 where he managed the Holiday Inn.

In his retirement he enjoyed his Wednesday Bridge Club group and looked forward to going each week, often planning other events around it.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and by his parents, his brother Allan and sister Margaret.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Ronnie) Guenther of Lewisville, sons; Allan (Anne) Horn of Houston, Brian (Dawn) Horn of Pilot Point; five grandchildren: Kendra Ausley, Nicole Wray, Duncan, Krista and Madison Horn; and one great-grandchild, Wesley, and one more due in June.

In addition, he is survived by nephews: Michael Horn, Patrick Horn, Pat Snyder, Shawn Euler and Dirk Euler. His sister-in-law, Mareem Horn of Evansville, Ind. was special to him as she helped raise him after his mother died as a result of a car accident when he was in his teens.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. There will not be an official visitation but friends are welcomed to pay respects at DeBerry Funeral Home.
