James Carson Lahti, Sr., 49, of Rhome , TX , went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2016 . He was born January 3, 1967 to Kathy Lahti and Eddie Makela in Ogden , UT. He was raised in Ely , MN until the age of 15. He moved to North Texas where he met his high school sweetheart and soul mate, Lisa Michelle Caviness, at the age of 18. They were married on September 5, 1985 . They have been married for a glorious 31 years filled with unconditional love.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Lahti, step-father, Bill Lahti, his father, Eddie Makela, and his brother, John Lahti.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa, three children, Ischelle Hobgood, son-in-law James, James Lahti, daughter-in-law Kristina, and Jennifer Wax, son-in-law Matthew, five grandchildren, Brian, Amber, Isaac Hobgood, Kinsley Hobgood, and Brooklynn Wax, his brother Lee Kelley,and sister Mary K. Kinman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 , at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton , Texas from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 , at 10:00 A.M. , at DeBerry Funeral Directors directly followed by a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Denton , Texas .
