James Dean Lane, 73 of Denton, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Denton. He was born on June 24, 1944 in Gainesville, Texas to Thurman and Myrtle (Alexander) Lane. James married Linda Daniels in 1967 in Denton, Texas.

James is survived by his wife, Linda Lane, daughter, Megan Chamberlin, sons, Don Herndan and wife June, James Lane, Gary Lane, sisters, Lurlene Risner, Essie Jensley, Evelyn Young,  grandchildren, Bridget Lane , Cristina Lane , Brittney Lane , Kim Fuller , Trudy Simplis and great grandchildren, Corbin Herron , Ericka Brower , Whitney Brower , Ashton Brower , Kadey Fuller , Janessa Hoskins , Avery Cain , Kaylynn Simplis , Zoe Simplis and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Funeral services will be held on the same day at 2:00 P.M. both will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton with Rev. Michael Herron officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel in Collin County near Preston.
