Upon retirement at age 50 he had the blessing of being able to pursue his passion for travel and opened Travel and Tours in Denton. Throughout his life he had various stints as a rancher and farmer.
Mr. Anderson was a self-taught and self-made man, the son of a minister, who came from humble beginnings. He loved to cook and entertain. He would light up the room with his wit and charm, never met a stranger, was a wonderful storyteller, and seldom ever at a loss for words. James Anderson lived his life by his principals and always looked for the best in others, He had a passion for poetry and an insatiable appetite for history. There were no major life events that didn't find their way onto the lines of a yellow legal pad. He was blessed, kind and gentle, and above all, he was loved.
