James Charles Mcdonough's Obituary

James Charles McDonough, 91, of Corinth passed away on October 28, 2018 in Denton. He was born in Rowesrun, Pennsylvania to Patrick Martin and Mary Margaret (Haggerty) McDonough on August 17, 1927.

His parents encouraged him to work hard, do the right thing, and be proud of what he did which led him to enlist in the Merchant Marines. After, he proudly served in the Korean War as Company Clerk of the 68 th Engineer Combat Unit. He worked as a marketing executive in the food industry, rising to the position of President of Pangburn's Chocolates. After retirement, he loved travel, horse racing, fishing and Penn State football. He was a trusted husband, father, son, brother and friend.

James is survived by his wife, Jerry McDonough, daughters, Cassandra McDonough of College Station, Texas, Rebecca McDonough Savino of Dallas, Texas, sister, Mary Campbell and brother Robert McDonough and various nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel (Smith) McDonough, brothers, Jack and Joseph McDonough and his mother and father.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan, Texas at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
