James Ottis Price, 77, passed away on June 13, 2015 in Denton, Texas. He was born on April 9, 1938 in Evansville, Indiana and traveled the world as an Air Force Officer.
Jim grew up in Scouting, following his dad as an Eagle Scout and then Assistant Scout Master. He graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in Engineering and attained an MBA from the University of Utah. He joined the Air Force upon graduation and retired after 22 years. He had a 2nd career as Director of Facilities at a hospital in Ft. Worth, then OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Bored with retirement, he went on to a 3rd career teaching math as an Adjunct Professor at UCO in Edmond, Oklahoma. This was the career he enjoyed most of all.
He retired from teaching and moved back to Texas in 2012. This was the home of his grandchildren. He watched his grandson, Matthew, carry on the Scouting tradition begun by his great-grandfather and watched his granddaughter, Savannah, grow from a child into an intelligent and beautiful young lady. They were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Price of Denton, son Blake and daughter-in-law Kim of Allen, daughter Kristen of Denton, and the two grandchildren Savannah and Matthew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Tillie (Thompson) Price.
Services will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:15 AM with full U.S. Air Force Military Honors. The family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior program in lieu of flowers (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
