James "Keith" Ruff, 64 of Chico, formerly of Denton, passed away at home on Sunday, November 26, 2023.  He was born on January 3, 1959 in Denton, Texas to James A. Ruff, Jr. and Gerldine Carroll  Ruff. He attended Denton High School and was an active Rodeo Calf Roper.  He was the former owner of Lamp Ranch in Crafton, Texas. He was noted for his creative metal works and home interiors.

His first passion was Calf Roping where he instructed many young calf ropers.

A private graveside side service will be held.  A public Celebration of Keith's life will be held after Christmas.

Keith is survived by his mother, Gerldine Ruff, brother, Jeff Ruff and his wife Val Ruff, aunt, Regina Ruff George, nephew, William Cody (Ruff) Marley, niece, Cierra Craddock

He was preceded in death by his father, "Blackie" Ruff, in 1997, grandfather, William Jason Carroll, in 1995, and grandmother, Myrel Boyd Carroll in 2015.
