James Morton Straubmueller, of Corinth, born on April 9, 1938 in Dallas, Texas, to Werner and Evelyn Straubmueller, passed away at age 80 on October 25, 2018 at 2:18 AM in Denton, Texas. He grew up in Fort Worth where he attended grade school and high school and a graduate of University of North Texas in Denton. He was a lifelong entrepreneur and business owner of The Roof Tile and Slate Company of Carrollton for over 30 years from which he retired. Mort was married to the love of his life, Annette Spindle Straubmueller. His greatest trait was the ability to bring laughter to everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Evelyn Straubmueller; daughter-in-law, Beth Straubmueller; and granddaughter, Courtney Smith. He is survived by his wife Annette Spindle Straubmueller; children Douglas Straubmueller and wife Susie of Dallas; Dow Straubmueller of Argyle; Staci Straubmueller of Denton; Douglas Vandever and wife Allison of Sanger; Steve Vandever of Sanger; and Julie Smith of Sanger; sister Louinda and husband Allen Anz of California; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His family was his greatest source of joy and his grandchildren were his heart.
A come and go Celebration of Life will be held at Gracepointe Church in Denton, Texas on Sunday, Novemeber 18, 2018 from 2-4:00pm.
