James Wayne Humphrey
December 15, 1962 – September 19, 2024

James Wayne Humphrey passed away in his home in Dallas, TX on Thursday, September 19, 2024. James (Jimmy) was born in Wichita Falls, TX, December 15, 1962. Jimmy graduated from North Garland High School in 1981. Soon after, he went to Oklahoma to work for Cothrum Drilling as a Roughneck for several years, he sold Nissans in Denton & Wichita Falls and worked in the distribution/warehouse industry in his later years.

Jimmy served in the Navy from 5-20-88 to 5-19-92 and was immensely proud of his accomplishments. He made lifetime friends while serving and loved traveling the world aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

Jimmy was a huge sports fan, had a passion for country music, especially Willie Nelson, Joe Diffie and George Straight. He loved family get-togethers where he shared jokes, songs, and silliness with family and friends. He kept the family in laughter the entire time he was around.

Jimmy was predeceased by Wayne T. Humphrey (father), Ann E. Humphrey (mother) and Cameron L. Humphrey (brother).

Survivors: Vicki Bass (sister) and her son, Vince W. Villanueva.

Other survivors include Uncle Gary Humphrey, Aunt Patty Humphrey, and first cousins, Jeff Humphrey & his family, Jason Humphrey & his family, and Monica Humphrey Horton and her family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 21, 2024 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
Burial of Jimmy's cremated remains will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:00am.
