Dr. James O. Whitmer, Jr., 75 of Denton passed away at his residence Tuesday, September 8, 2020.  He was born January 12, 1945 in Childress, Texas to James Orton Whitmer, Sr. and Mina Thaten Whitmer.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. Jim married Carol Ann Neff on July 18,1970 in Imlay City, Michigan. He was a practicing Chiropractor in Denton for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Ann Whitmer. His children James O Whitmer III, Jason Patrick Whitmer and Rosemary Mina Whitmer. Daughter in law Melissa Whitmer and 7 grandchildren Jamie, Josh, James IV, Gavin, Grayson Whitmer and Tanner and Tatum Hall. Brother Kim Whitmer and sister Vicki Whitmer, niece Mina Miller, husband Steve and their children Lochlan and Finnian Miller of Long Beach Ms.

He will be missed by all for his work ethic, quick wit, and generous and kind heart.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 5-7:00 pm at the DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:30 am in the DeBerry Funeral Directors Chapel.
