Janel Dunn Baker, 67, of Denton, TX, passed away on Thursday, April 5th, 2018. She was born in Denton on May 15th, 1950 to Clifford E. Dunn and Vernell Bottoms Dunn.

She attended Denton Independent Schools and graduated from Jessie's Beauty College of Denton in 1967.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 3-5 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Both services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, TX. Funeral arrangements are being handled by DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton, TX.

Janel worked as a hair dresser for many years. She also was employed by Green Giant and GTE Telecommunications of Denton.  She enjoyed gospel and country music and playing bingo. She was a member of a gospel quartet, The Heavenly Echos, in the late 1970's and early 1980's.  She could also play multiple musical instruments.

She is survived by her significant other of 37 years, Francis Kral of Denton TX; daughter, Kimberly Beaty of Argyle, TX; 7 grandchildren: Nicholas Rampoldi, Meagan Wiler, Justin Beaty, Micaela Hammett, Marissa Hammett, Chelsea Tompkins and Emily Presley; 9 great-grandchildren: Torie, Nevaeh, Tito, Dante, Nicki, Natalie, Elena, Zachary and Jolene; brother, Clifford D. Dunn and wife Cindy; sister, Gwen Archer and husband Steve; niece, Heather Faron; nephews Jeff Dunn, Chad Reynolds, Jason Eddington, Jeremy Eddington, and many other family members and friends.

Janel is preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Hammons Hammett, her father, Clifford E. Dunn, mother Vernell Bottoms Dunn, and grandparents, Henry Bottoms, Ethel Smith Bottoms, and Lucy Jane Dunn Smallwood.
