Janet Marie Beavers, 73, of Denton, Texas, passed away on July 5, 2024, at her home. She was born in Burlington, IA to William & Margaret Dimmitt, on February 15, 1951.

Janet graduated from Jefferson High School, Cedar Rapids, IA in 1969. She then made the move to Texas as fast as possible with her parents & sister. She concentrated her work in Human Resources where she came to Retirement from Tetra Pak Global IM.

Hobbies, #1 taking peoples' chips in what was her favorite, yet most stressful hobby, Texas Hold 'Em poker, where she was lovingly known as Dammit Janet. Her other favorite would have to be quilting, though she tended to buy more than she sewed. Her most loved hobby would be her love of humpback whales, which led to travels from her numerous trips from Maui, Hawaii to Monterrey, CA & north to Alaska.

Mom always had a smile on her face, and was there for so many people, for so many reasons & she never asked for anything in return. So let's celebrate her life today. Put a smile on our faces, back away the tears, love & live like she did, with the Spirit of Aloha.

She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Wilkerson of Denton, Texas; her son, Christopher Beavers & wife, Donna, of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Judy Van Loan of Denton, Texas; her granddaughter, Riley Wilkerson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; extended family & a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Beavers; & her mother & father.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9:00 A.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Randy, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Monday, at 11:30 A.M.
