Janet Lynn Schmidhausler

Janet Lynn Schmidhausler, age 60, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026. She was born on November 20, 1965, in Paterson, New Jersey to Vernon and Joan (Peterson) Schmidhausler.

Our fondest memories of Janet are her laugh, smile, unconditional love, fondness for long hair, and love of music. She particularly enjoyed birthday celebrations, holidays with family, time spent with roommates at her group home, and interacting with people she met.

She is survived by her two brothers. One of them, Robert Schmidhausler, lives in Lewisville, Texas. David and his wife Jo Ann, (Chidiac) live in Richland Hills, Texas. They have two children. One of them is Amanda Chevier, who lives in Richland Hills, Texas, with her husband, Clayton, and their four children: Cayden, Emma, Amelia, and Ethan. Andrew Schmidhausler lives in Grapevine, Texas. Janet’s only cousin Rick Peterson and his wife Lynda live in Centreville, Virginia. They have two children. One of them is Nicole Mitrocsak, who lives in Annandale, Viginia, with her husband, Nandor and their two children: Logan and Quinn. Eric Peterson lives in Centreville, Virginia, with his wife, Christine, and their two children: Evie and Celia.

Her family will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 21, 2026, in Richland Hills. Her family is grateful for the kindness and support shown during this time.
