Janice Ashby Cole went to be with her Savior on Thursday, December 27, 2012. Jan was born on February 25, 1940, in Jayton, Texas to J.C. Ashby and Bernice Springer Ashby. She grew up in Denton, Texas and married Jim Cole on October 7, 1961. They have 2 children, Rex Cole and Jana Cole Osborn. Jan "Grandma Honey" loved spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren participate in their various activities. She always put others before herself and was a wonderful example of God's love and compassion to others. Even through many illnesses and sufferings, Jan never wavered from her positive attitude and strong faith in Christ. She loved worshiping and visiting with the many caring, loving people at Valley Creek Church.

Jan is survived by her husband Jim, her son Rex and daughter-in-law Betsy, her daughter Jana, her grandchildren Sarah Cole Jensen and her husband Jeff Jensen, Lauren Cole, Kaylee Cole, Cole Osborn, and Reed Osborn, her sister Jonell Ashby Carroll, and her brother Rick Ashby. She was preceded in death by her daddy J.C., her mother Bernice, and her brother Jackie Don Ashby.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 3-5 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery.
