Janie DeMeyer-Jones, of Denton passed away on July 18, 2020 at her home. She was born in Santa Ana, California to late AC and Patsy (Campbell) Gearin on December 5, 1957.

Janie was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman. Though she was stubborn, she loved big. Janie always went above and beyond for the people she loved. She always gave her all in everything she did. Janie made it her life mission to provide and give the best for her family.

Janie was raised in California on a farm and later moved to Iowa around 1973. She moved to Texas in 1989 with her daughter.

Janie and Sean met and felt a spark and started dating in the year 2000. They were later officially married August of 2013. Together, they raised their granddaughter, Melissa.

She is survived by her husband, Sean Jones of Denton, daughter, Gidget Kozacek of Colorado, grandchildren, Melissa Rogers, Dustin Sanders, Desteny Sanders, great grandchildren, Aiden Rogers, Temperance Rogers, Seth Sanders, brothers, Mark Gearin, Mike Gearin, and Bruce Gearin.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, AC and Patsy Gearin, brother, Randy Gearin, dearly loved stepfather, Joe Mendez, and favorite uncle, Francis 'Babe' Campbell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2:30 PM
