Obituary

Janie Belle Walters, age 74, of Denton, Texas left this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 11, 2022. Her final words were, "I'm going to GLORY!" as she joined her Savior after a very courageous battle with liver cancer.

Janie was born on January 4, 1948, to Everett and Lilly Mae (Polk) Bruedigam at home in Rosebud, Texas. She met William "Andy" Walters on January 11,1964 and they were married on March 27, 1964, at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Denton, Texas.

Janie was a lifelong member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Roanoke, Texas where she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 7 years old.  She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother that spoiled her grandchildren beyond words as well as the many "grandchildren" that stayed in her daycare, and in her Sunday School Classes throughout the years. Most of all, she was a wonderful woman of God that taught every child from birth God's Word and to depend on Him no matter the circumstances that life might throw at them.  For that every child is eternally grateful.

Janie is survived by her husband of 58 years this March, William Andrew "Andy" Walters of Denton, 2 daughters, Julie Smith and Susan Washington of Denton Texas. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one sister, Lilly Joan Wilson of Haslet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Lilly Bruedigam, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

At Janie's request she has been cremated and there will be a memorial service at a later date.
