Jasper Ezekiel Syrock, Jr., 81, of Ponder passed away on June 30, 2016 in Denton, Texas. He was born on September 8, 1934 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Jasper and Leona (Faldon) Syrock, Sr.
He attended public schools in Van Buren, Arkansas. He and Glenda Davis married on February 13, 1959 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Jasper also served in the U.S. Army.

Jasper worked at Collins Radio starting in 1965. Collins radio was purchased by Rockwell, International and upon Jasper's retirement in 1991, it was owned by Alcatel Networks.
Jasper was a man who loved the Bible and the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and had an acre garden that he enjoyed working in. He was a member of God's Church and attended Sunday School Class at First Baptist in Justin and Church at First Baptist in Ponder, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda Syrock, Daughters; Melinda Syrock of Ponder and Janet Lollar and husband Bruce of Mesquite, Texas. Son, Jason Syrock and his wife Ester of Ponder, two sisters, Loraine Scott of Van Buren, Ark., Louise Thomas and her husband Gerald of Mountainburg, Ark. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Christy Lewis and her husband Peter of Spring Branch, Texas, Marley and Jim De Ruvo of Forney, Texas, Esther McCormick of Irving, Texas, Jennifer Syrock of Seattle, Wa., Stephanie Syrock of Roanoke, Texas and Madison McKay of Ponder, Texas. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great – grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2016 at The First Baptist Church of Ponder at 10:00 A.M.
