Jay Parr passed away in Ponder, Texas on Friday, June 20, 2025. He was born in Pampa, Texas to Gene and Mary Parr on December 6, 1961. Jay loved music, especially George Strait. He enjoyed writing and performing country music with his band, The Strait Experience. He was nominated twice for the Josie award. He also was a master plumber working at DFW Airport. He is preceded in death by his father and Tina Lee Parr.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Pointe Church in Denton at 2:00PM, Saturday, June 28, 2025. Viewing and visitation will be held before the service from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. Jay will be laid to rest at Sanger Cemetery following the service.

He is survived by his wife Loretta Fussell, son Joseph Parr, Mother Mary Parr, Grandson Brian Parr, Granddaughter Iris Parr, and his two brothers Mike Parr, Sam Parr.
