Obituary

Jean Rhinehart Carmichael, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away April 7, 2018 in Denton, Texas.  She was born in 1929 in Iraan, Texas, and lived in several locations in Texas and Arkansas before settling in the Forth Worth area, where she worked as an executive secretary at Bell Helicopter until her retirement.

There was nothing she enjoyed more than sitting on a fishing bank, especially with her father, 'wetting a hook.'  Jean was also an accomplished amateur violinist and played in the Memphis Sinfonietta, the precursor of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and subsequently in many community orchestras.  Her other avocations included gardening, genealogy, camping, and helping her husband develop their land in Jack County.  Throughout her life Jean was an active member of her church and served on the altar guild.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, S.C. and Mamie Rhinehart, and husband, Jack Carmichael.  She is survived by her children, Beverly Lipski and husband John of State College, Pennsylvania, Nancy Wooten and husband Jon of Sanger, Texas, John Carmichael and wife Kathy of Flower Mound, Texas, James Carmichael and wife Karla of Benbrook Texas, along with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
