Obituary

Jeffrey Mark Melloan, age 68, died peacefully in his home in Northlake, TX the morning of Thursday, February 15th, 2024. Jeff was born in Louisville, KY on February 28th, 1955 to parents Edwin Ellsworth Melloan and Vera Hagan Melloan.

Jeff spent the majority of his career in the transportation industry. He developed many close relationships and mentored many young men who thought of him as a father. Jeff loved all of his family and friends very dearly. He was a friend to all and always gave a helping hand to anyone in need. Everyone who knew him loved his gentleness, thoughtfulness, humbleness, supportiveness, and kind, loving heart.

He loved more than anything to watch his daughter, Molly, dance, play sports, and participate in anything she was involved in. He loved being a grandfather to Jeffrey and cherished their time together. Jeff loved muscle cars, tinkering on cars, hunting, working in the yard, watching basketball and golf, playing golf with friends and family, and doing other outdoor activities with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Louise Melloan, his daughter Stephanie Nicole Perales, his daughter Molly Katherine Melloan, his grandson Jeffrey Cole Ortiz, his sister, Pamela Denise Movassaghi, his brother-in-law Homayon Movassaghi, his sister-in-law Lisa Wright, his brother-in-law David Wright, Sister-in-law Diane Sypniewski, brother-in-law Frank, Nephew Michael Pohl, Michelle Galindo, Christopher Pohl, Brother in law Tony Vitale, his niece and nephew Ashley and Cliff Blumberg, his great-niece Charlotte Blumberg, his niece and nephew Davy and Emily Wright, and his great-nephews Austin and Amon Wright. Jeff is also survived by his many wonderful, beloved cousins.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Edwin E. Melloan, his mother, Vera Hagan Melloan, many beloved aunts and uncles, and his grandson Nicholas Armando Perales.

The memorial services will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton, TX on February 26th, 2024, at 10:30am with a rosary, liturgy service, and interment of ashes immediately following in the Columbarium on the Church grounds. The Altar Society will be preparing a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Denton, TX.
