Jennifer Jonita Widmer, 63, of Denton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 10, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Joe Bailey and Clara Onyta (Rampy) Wilcoxson. Jonita married her high school sweetheart Mike Widmer on May 24, 1975 in Valdasta, Texas.

Jonita attended Garland High School, completed nursing school at El Centro College, and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University.  She made a career in nursing and later became a school nurse for Denton ISD.

Jonita was outgoing and witty and could talk to anyone.  She treasured her family and friendships.  She enjoyed family vacations and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was an avid crafter who enjoyed cross-stitching, quilting, and crocheting.  She loved planting spring flowers.

Jonita is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mike Widmer, daughters, Jennifer Widmer Cull and husband Spencer, Sarah Widmer Ellison and husband Brandon, sons, Jamey Widmer and wife Sarah, Christopher Widmer and wife Samantha, and brother, Joe Bob Wilcoxson.  Jonita has 4 grandchildren, Peyton Cull 2, Presley Cull 2 months, Brayden Ellison 9, Keegan Ellison 5.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Little Chapel in The Woods on the campus of Texas Womans University.
