Obituary
Jeri Williams Schloeman was born on January 6, 1948 in Bartlesville, OK and passed away on July 31, 2013 while surrounded by friends.
Jeri graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1966 and earned her Elementary Education Degree from North Texas State University (now UNT) in 1970. After graduation, Jeri made many friends while working in management at Gibson's Discount Center in Denton. Her career with Denton ISD started at Jefferson Davis Elementary in 1980, first as a teacher's aide and later as administrative assistant to the principal. She touched the lives of many students during her teaching career which began with the opening of Evers Park Elementary in 1985, as a Title I reading and math teacher in the computer lab and later in second grade until her retirement in 2008. She held high expectations for her students, as well as herself. After retirement, she continued to influence students as a dedicated and sought-after substitute teacher.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, going to the movies, having breakfast with her close friends (the "Ya-Ya Sisters"-which she named), and being an indulgent dog mom to her beloved Rascal.
Jeri is survived by her parents, Bill and Ruth Williams of Denton; her nephew and his wife, Billy and Kim Williams of Red Oak; and great nephew, Littlest Billy; best friends, Jill and Mike Fogle of Denton; her beloved dog, Rascal; and the Ya-Ya Sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 2-4 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
