Jerry Rhett McKay, age 84, of Krum, Texas, passed away September 10, 2025.

Jerry was born on March 14, 1941, in Kermit, Texas, to Calvin Luther & Ilo Sue McKay. He was drafted into the United States Army & served faithfully until he was honorable discharged in 1969. He received his bachelor's degree from West Texas State University in Business Management.

On March 17, 1967, Jerry married Joyce Ann Dean. They were blessed with two children, Kelly Brett & Jane Suzanne.

Jerry started McKay Equipment Company in 1979, in Odessa, Texas, where he dedicated 35 years to manufacturing quality petroleum products. He retired to Krum, Texas, where he tended livestock.

Jerry was a faithful servant of God. He served as an ordained Deacon in many churches; most recently, Highland Baptist Church in Denton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sharon, & his brother, Kenneth.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce; his son, Kelly & wife Anita of Odessa, Texas; along with their children, Anabelle, Madelyn, Emma, Houston, & Karley; his daughter, Janie & her husband, Lyle White, & their daughter, Ruby of Aubrey, Texas; his sister, Wanda Boone of Amarillo, Texas; his sister-in-law, Dorothy McKay of Decatur, Texas; & many nieces, & nephews who he cherished.

Visitation will be held at 10 AM, Friday, September 19, 2025, at Highland Baptist Church in Denton, Texas & funeral services will follow at 11 AM. Burial services will take place at Sunset Cemetery in Sunset, Texas immediately following the funeral service.
