Jerry H. Waldon, 76, of Denton passed away on June 23, 2018 in Denton, Texas. He was born on June 25, 1941 in Copeville, Texas, to Herschel and Sina (Spencer) Waldon.

He was an honors graduate of Wylie High School.  After graduating, his family moved to Denton for him to attend University of North Texas where he majored in mathematics and physics.

After graduation, he began working in UNT's computing center where he stayed until retirement.  He was a strong supporter of UNT athletics and programs and remained close to his friends from UNT.

Over the years he enjoyed officiating football, being a baseball umpire, and working stats at UNT basketball games. He also walked for exercise regularly with friends and was an avid reader.

He loved being Granddaddy to Grant.  He enjoyed Grandparent's Days at school, baseball and basketball games, or anything else that his grandson was doing.

In recent years, he was actively involved in Calvary UPC church and was affectionately known as Mr. Jerry.  He adored his church family and was loved and supported there.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father and son, Andrew Waldon.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Underdahl of Denton;  sister, Carolyn Smart of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Grant Underdahl and Nirvana Waldon; niece, Crystal Costabile; nephew Micah Costabile; Dean Underdahl and Pat Waldon.

The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 5-7 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Calvary UPC, 805 E Sherman Dr, in Denton on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
