Jimmy Tom Bush, 81, of Denton passed away at his home on October 15, 2021. Jim Tom  was born April 14, 1940 in Denton to Winona Hodge Bush and JB Bush  He was raised by his loving stepfather, Carl Smith.

He attended Denton Schools and joined the United States Marine Corps in August of 1959. In 1963, Jim joined the Denton Police Department and worked there in various roles until his retirement in 2001. He then worked for the Denton County Sheriffs Office from 2006 until 2012.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean; his daughter, Adrianne;  son and daughter-in law Cody & Jennifer Bush and granddaughter, Codi all of Louisiana; his sister and brother-in law Elizabeth  and Ray Bowers of Cedar Park, one cousin and and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1-3PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
