Constable Jim Dotson, Denton County Precinct One

James Elba Dotson, Sr., son of J.D. Dotson and Viola Shasteen Dotson, 70, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. He was born on July 28, 1942 in Denton. He married Barbara Arrington in Denton on June 23, 1961 and was a member of the Denton Baptist Church. James worked for the Denton Police Department for 28 years and was a County Constable for 16 years.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mike Boyd, Johnny Hammons, Leland Kruger, John Dupree, Pat Taylor, and Doug Boydston.

James is survived by his wife, Barbara Dotson; daughter, Ginger Harvey; sons, James E. Dotson, Jr. and Chris Dotson; 9 grandchildren, Leslie Harvey Atnipp, Ryan Harvey, Jared Harvey, Whitney Dotson, Tanner Dotson, Joshua Dotson, Caitlyn Dotson, Cassidy Dotson, and Jaden Dotson; and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
