Jim “Brad”
Gillum
November 22, 1962 – June 14, 2017
Jim "Brad" Gillum, 54, of Sanger passed away on June 14, 2017 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was born on November 22, 1962 in Nocona, Texas to Leo and Barbara Gillum.
He attended Ryan High School in Ryan, Oklahoma. He loved hunting, fishing, Nascar, and of course, his Boomer Sooners. As he stated many times, he wasn't a fan, he was a fanatic when it came to his OU. Brad worked for Kroger's for 19 years after moving to Texas.
In 2001, his good friend and coworker Randy set him up on a blind date where he ended up meeting the love of his life. He married his best friend on April 24th, 2004. Soon after, he became a "world traveler" as he called it. Brad fought his illness his entire life, but no matter how low he may have been feeling, he always said with a smile on his face he was "upright and vertical."
He is survived by his wife, Tammie Gillum of Sanger, daughter, Lindsay Stefl of Irving, mother, Barbara Gillum and brother, Craig Gillum of Denton. He has three nieces- Kristie Fuller, Kazra Anderson, Tausha Nickleberry, and one nephew, Kyle Gillum, along with multiple great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo Gillum.
He is now free to race around Heaven in his number 3 car.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
