James "Jim" Richard Logsdon, 81, of Argyle, Texas went home to his savior on December 27, 2019. He was born on April 15, 1938 to Harold Theodore and Edythe Grace Logsdon in Iowa City, Iowa, and he died in Dallas, Texas following a short illness.
Jim married Georgina Bow Long at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas on July 30, 1960. In the course of their 59-year marriage, they had two children, Melanie and Rick.
After high school Jim attended Texas Tech University and Carnegie Mellon University, earning Bachelors and Masters degrees in physics. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Argyle, where he served as a deacon. Jim loved working with children, teaching children's and youth Sunday School for decades and supporting his son's Boy Scout activities, briefly serving as Scoutmaster. Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed playing duplicate bridge with friends and breeding and growing orchids. For most of his career, we worked for EMF Corporation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, retiring from EMF as Vice President of Engineering and Sales.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Jim is survived by his wife Georgina Logsdon; daughter, Melanie Gibbons; son, Rick Logsdon; and grandson, Caleb Gibbons.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Argyle on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bobby Cates officiating. Interment will immediately follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton, Texas.
