Obituary

Jimmy Lee Beachum, Jr. passed away at his home in Flower Mound, Texas on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, after a courageous battle. At the age of 62, he was called home to glory with his family by his side. He won the victory and has now been made perfectly whole. Heaven gained a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, coach and mentor.

Jimmy was born in Clovis, New Mexico to the parents of Jimmy and Margaret Beachum on September 28, 1958. Jimmy married his high school sweetheart, Valaska Stinnett in 1979.

He was active in sports and transitioned from player to coach. For 30 years, he gave back to the community by coaching football, basketball and softball from youth sports to Select. Jimmy loved the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and spending time with his family. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and always had hope that they would win another Super Bowl.

Jimmy rededicated his life to the Lord and became a pastor. His passion was to share the word of God. With every opportunity he demonstrated his devotion to the word of God by ministering to all he came into contact with throughout his battle.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and his brothers Donald and Perry Beachum, and other family members.

Jimmy was blessed and loved by his adoring wife, Valaska Beachum of 42 years and their three children.

He is survived by: Wife: Valaska Beachum, Daughter: Terra Beachum - grandchildren: Levi Beachum, Layla Beachum, Daughter: Trisha Beachum Stoner - grandchildren: Dominique Beachum, Dejah Stoner, Desiree Stoner, Thomas Stoner, Jr., Son: Jimmy "Trey" Beachum III (wife Lacey) - grandchildren: Jimmy "Four" Beachum IV, Prescott Beachum, Mother: Margaret Beachum, Siblings: Pastor Raymond Beachum (wife Karen), Larry Beachum, Curtis Beachum, Ervin Beachum (wife Julie), Sherry McCray (husband Willie), Gloria Valley (husband bishop Elijah Valley), Reginald Beachum (wife Janis), Marvin Beachum, Brenda Richardson and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members he adored.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home Monday, August 30, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7;00 PM in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the First Denton Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
