Jimmy Earl Little, 80, of Denton, Tx., passed away surrounded by family on April 17, 2024, at his home. He was born in Altus, Oklahoma to James and Lee Little, on August 24, 1943.
Jimmy married Theresa Murphy on August 10, 1963, in Altus, Oklahoma. They lived in Oklahoma until 1968 and moved to Texas permanently. Jimmy was hired by the Dallas Police Department in March 1974 and retired as a sergeant in December 1999. While with the Dallas Police Department he received his bachelor's degree from UNT in Denton, Texas. Music was a big part of his life, and he had an outstanding singing voice. He was the song leader at church for all of his life and also sang with the Dallas Police Choir for many years. After retirement, Jimmy & Theresa enjoyed some time RV traveling. Additionally, he was an elder with the Denton Church of Christ. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Little, of Denton, Tx., daughters, Jennifer Deal and her husband Robert, of Denton, Rebecca Morales and her husband, Jaime of Little Elm, Tx., Kimberly Malone, and her husband, Joey of Sanger, his eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Denton Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
