IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmy Lynwood
Mchargue
February 25, 1939 – August 26, 2025
Jimmy Lynwood McHargue, 86, passed away on August 26, 2025. Jimmy was born on February 25, 1939, to Eddie and Irene McHargue in Limestone County, TX. He grew up in Dallas and Rockwall, Texas. He attended the University of Texas Austin and the University of Texas Arlington, graduating from UTA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
Jimmy is survived by Donna, his wife of 65 years; his three sons, Steven, Brett, and Kevin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Eddie Don, his sister Jeanita, and his cherished daughter Susan.
Jimmy had a passion for music and the arts, with a lifelong ambition to be Bob Dylan. He wrote and sang folk songs for most of his early life. He hitchhiked to New York City with the dream of becoming an actor and to San Francisco with the hope of being a musician.
He had a passion for education and knowledge, knowing how much suffering ignorance caused the world. He instilled that passion in his children, with the four of them earning seven degrees between them.
But mostly, his passion was for his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather who was never too busy or too occupied to give them all his love and attention.
