Jo Ann Johnson, 79, of Denton passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Denton. Jo Ann was born on December 10, 1934 to Varnie and Bonnie Vaughan in Pilot Point. She married Billy Jack Johnson in Denton, Texas. She was also a head cook at UNT for 20 years.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 5-7 pm for a visitation on Wednesday, April 16. A funeral service will be held at the Gribble Springs Baptist Chruch at 2 pm on Thursday, April 17, burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Ricky Johnson; grandsons, Travis Johnson, Pat Longshore, Trey Longshore, and John Longshore; granddaughter, Emma Berry, and Lorie Johnson; granddaughter-in-law, Brook Johnson; nephew, Jack Vaughan; cousin, Ann Stickland; and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Varnie and Bonnie Vaughan; husband, Billy Jack Johnson; son, Elton Ray Johnson; and daughter, Donna Ann Johnson.
