JoAnn Broussard Early, 84, better known as Gammy, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 20, 2022 in Denton, Texas. She was born in St. Martinville, Louisiana on September 2, 1937 to Robert and Edith Broussard.
She attended schools in St. Martinsville, where she grew up with her parents and siblings, Marcelle and Robert, Jr. She met her soulmate, Gene M. Early, and the pair went on to marry in Port Arthur, Texas on October 30, 1954. They were excited to start a family, welcoming a son, Gene, Jr. "Buddy" and then two daughters, Kathryn and Janet. JoAnn was a fulltime wife and mother – which she loved every minute of.
Gammy was extremely kind-hearted and was always willing to help anyone. She loved her family more than words could ever say.
She and Gene loved traveling. They were able to see many other countries, their cultures and historical facts. Gammy had a passion for history so travelling with her love was her dream come true. She and Gene retired in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 1995. In 2005, after Gene passed away, she moved to Krum, Texas making Krum her home. Gammy befriended many folks in Krum, especially those who served at the Krum Fire Department and Police Department.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert J. Broussard, Sr., Edith Vincent Broussard Brasseaux, dear husband, Gene M. Early, son, Gene M. "Buddy" Early, Jr., sister, Marcelle Mouton, and brother, Robert J. Broussard, Jr.
Gammy is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Early Strand and her husband, Mike of Krum, Texas and Janet Early Eldred of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, grandchildren, Robert Anderson and wife, Ashley of McKinney, Texas, Richard Anderson and wife, Katie, of Azle, Texas, Jason Strand and wife, Jill of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jamie Strand and wife, Diana of Krum, Texas, Ryan Mahoney and wife, Sheena of Brighton, Colorado, Stacy Early of Abilene, Texas and Cheryl Morales of Merkel, Texas, great-grandchildren, Aralyn and Sariah Anderson, Katlyn Jewel and husband, Tyler, Lauren Murphy, Finn Renee Boehmer, Aydin, Mikey and Luke Strand and Kloe, Matthew and Kaylee Morales, and one great-great-grandchild, Kyler Jewel.
There are no services planned at this time. She will be laid to rest at a later date, at home in St. Martinville, Louisiana.
