Joe G. Chavez, 82, of Krum passed away in Justin, Texas on November 20, 2016. He was born in Big Spring, Texas to Pedro and Erlinda Chavez.

He attended schools in Midland, Texas and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Yolanda Chavez in Greenville, Texas on September 9, 1967 and was the owner of Chavez Concrete.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Chavez of Krum, daughters; Julie Hernandez, Helen Stevens, Eloisa Rodriguez, Olga Urias, Hedy Maassen, Elvie Avants and Hillary Lester, sons; Joe Chavez, Steven Chavez and Stacy Chavez. sisters; Gloria Galvan, Frannie Ramos and Elisa Zarate, brothers; Lupe Perez and Luis Perez, twenty eight grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Zepeda, sisters; Eloisa Chavez and Nina Perez and brother, Jimmy Chavez.

A Rosary will be said on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 6:30 P.M. with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Denton, Texas. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.  Pallbearers will be Steven Chavez, Paul Chavez, Rick Maassen, Keith Avants, Bobby Lester and Steven Chavez, Jr.
