Joe De La Torre passed away surrounded by the peace and love of 5 generations at his home Denton, Texas on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born in El Paso, Texas on December 3, 1937 to Jose and Carolina De La Torre.

Joe was a man of adventure, and enjoyed growing up listening to music from the 1940s and 50s, going to school dances and found solace as a young boy in St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish church, as a loving and serving alter boy, for many years. He was a provider, animal lover, had a charitable heart and was a lover of nature, a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Betty Jo Walker (De La Torre),  Celia Lorenza Flores (De La Torre), Richard Xavier De La Torre and beloved grandson Andrew Lowell Bryce Moon

Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, October 23, 2025. The rosary will be held at 9:30AM followed by a mass at 10:30AM.

Joe is survived by his wife Margarita De La Torre, 6 children Joey, Isaac, Eddie, Betty, Lisa and Jennifer, 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
