Dr. Joe Weldon Tynes, Jr. of Denton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 79.
Memorial Service: Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Cole Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Denton.
Dr. Joe was born on October 1, 1935 in Groesbeck, TX to Joe and Jackie Tynes. As an only child, Joe grew up in Texas and received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas and his MBA from the University of Dallas. Dr. Joe practiced dentistry for over 40 years and was an active part of his church and the community. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, Dr. Joe could be found attending any number of his team's favorite sporting events, including University of Texas, TCU or Texas A&M football games. He was a man who liked to live life to the fullest. Dr. Joe was a man full of determination, good humor, and love for his friends and family. He was loving husband, wonderful father and a good friend to all and he will be missed greatly by all those who knew him and loved him.
Dr. Joe is survived by his wife, Eula May Tynes, of Denton; son, Chris Tynes and his wife Michelle, of Argyle; daughter, Dana Zizoff, and her husband, Norm, of Tampa; daughter, Shauna Bright and her husband, David of Tyler; and daughter, Tiffany Beaudine and her husband Terry of Arlington; and 8 beautiful grandchildren.
