IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joe N.
Williams
May 16, 1932 – August 12, 2017
On Saturday August 12, 2017, Joe N. Williams left the pain of his earthly body and entered the Church Triumphant.
A Justin resident with his beloved wife LaRue since 1984, Joe was active in the Justin United Methodist Church serving on Trustees and as Chair of the Administrative Council. He served on the Denton County Appraisal Review Board from 2011 thru 2015, unable to complete his 6 th year, due to health issues. After 30+ years in the life insurance business, both in sales and management, following his retirement, he fulfilled a life-long ambition to build residential homes, including the very first home built in the Meadowlands subdivision and a dozen other homes in Justin, including their home. From 1994 – 2000 Joe was a consultant with Tom Dodd's CompuPros, Inc. consulting firm sharing his expertise on the user side of IT, quality control and project planning. As he did in his teenage years and the 1950's, Joe revived his hobby of street rods. A member of the Top Tin Street Rods of Denton County and honorary member of the Donut Gang of Austin, Joe amassed a large collection of trophies and plaques, as well as a collection of over 200 model cars. In 2017, he was honored to be inducted into the Amarillo Motorsports Hall of Fame. Joe was also an avid golfer up until his last years.
Joe will be remembered for his impeccable work ethic, his mastery of the spreadsheet, his ability to talk with anyone he met, and his love of his family, his country, and his Savior.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Ami Jo Redfern.
He is survived by his wife, LaRue McAmis Williams, of 58 years, 3 daughters and 16 grandchildren: Connie Roberson, son-in-law Silas, Christina, and Chris; Terri Sakakeeny and son-in-law Chip, Jordan, Ali, Rachel, Sarah and George; son in law, Frank Redfern, Maegan, Frankie, April, and Jennifer; Staci Gray and son-in-law Marty, Jonathan, Rebekah, Grace, Micah and Hope.
A memorial service will be held at Justin United Methodist Church, 205 N. Jackson St., Justin, TX at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 19, 2017.
In lieu of flowers Joe has asked that all remembrances be directed to Justin United Methodist Church.
