Obituary

On June 17, 2016, John Boyd, 66, my beloved soulmate and best friend rode off into the sunset for the last time. Waiting for him there was his cousin Randy and all his friends and animals.

He was born January 3, 1950 in Pilot Point, Texas where, Elna Elaine Lott and Allmon Taylor Boyd of Lewisville, Texas adopted him and brought him into their life. In the 6 th grade the family moved to Tulia, Texas where his dad farmed. There he met the love of his life Suzette Kreig Boyd.

They married December 27, 1969. In 1970 they moved to Powderly, Texas where he was a rancher. While there their gift from God arrived, a son, John Cody born December 18, 1974.

In 1976 they relocated to Tulia, Texas where they opened a Saddle Shop. His "expertise" in saddle making was extended to Boot making and Suzette did Boot and Shoe repair.

In 1981 the relocated to Krum, Texas to care for his parents where he continued saddle making until his health declined. At that time Sandy Brazile, a wonderful friend to both John and Suzette, allowed him to continue his love of horses and he was able to get his horse FIX every Wednesday.

Now the cowboy rides away, tending to cattle and chasing his dream. Green pastures await him. He can enjoy the sights and detours along his way, free from constant pain. Happy Trails to my sweet love. Till we meet again. You will always be in my heart.

God smiled as he made the autumn,
Taking his paintbrush in His hand;
The fields, the crops, the rich colors
You've known and loved first hand
It's harvest time, and we know
You're not that far away
We miss you
Though you left just the other day.
It's harvest time, and we understand
God has his harvest too.
It's harvest time, and you're not here
For us your rest came way too soon,
But our love for you is one gift of God
That counters death's mournful tune.
We'll hear your voice, we'll see your smile;
Your stories we'll recall when thinking of the past;
You'll be a part of all our seasons
Till our own harvest time comes at last.
