John Robert Burnett, Sr. 74 of Denton passed away February 9, 2021 at Texas Health Presbyterian-Denton.  He was born August 2, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert Charlton and Margaret Ann Freedman Burnett.

He married Carmelita Alicia Cruz on January 13, 1967, she preceded him in death on November 23, 2011.  They were members of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. John was retired from the Department of Printing and Engraving in Dallas, Texas as a Safety Officer.

There will be a viewing at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, February 16 ^th from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., this will be a come and go event.

John is survived by 4 daughters, Margaret Santos, Cathy Lumba, Brenda Croson and Desarey Burnett, 14 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, John R. Burnett II.
