John Robert Davis, 74, of Justin, Texas passed away on February 5, 2022 in Frisco, Texas. He was born on August 31, 1947 in Almont, Michigan to Robert and Jeanette (Hull) Davis.

John grew up in Irving Texas and attended Irving High School.  John met his wife, Ruth, while a student at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.  John and Ruth settled in Justin, Texas, where they raised 4 children.  John worked for 25 years in IT with Radio Shack in Fort Worth.  He then went on to work at Walmart until he retired in 2020.  John was active in his community, serving many roles in the past, including city council, volunteer EMT and firefighter, Boy Scout leader, and many others.  In his later years, he loved to travel and support his grandchildren in all of their activities.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Davis, daughters, Angela Brooks and husband Michael of Southlake, Texas, Marcia Thorne of Dallas, Texas, sons, John Davis and his wife Courtney of Granbury, Texas, Mike Davis of Dallas, Texas and eight grandchildren: Kristen Thorne, Loren Buss, Jordan Brooks, Benjamin Brooks, Chance Davis, Elliot Davis, Mia Davis, and Eravell Davis.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and son-in-law.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A live stream will be displayed on the Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors Facebook page at the time of service.
