On September 11, 2023, our beloved mother and grandmother, "Umaw", John Ann Hotchkiss, left God's earth to be with Him in Heaven.  She was born November 28, 1941, in Texarkana, Arkansas.  John Ann was a very unique person.  She was passionate about the color purple and dogs, especially beagles.  She adored her grandchildren, loved literature and travel, and she was an amazing artist. She will be missed by her many friends and family.

John Ann received a degree in English literature from Texas Women's University and shortly thereafter married Louie Armstrong.  The couple had two children, Russell and Laurie.  She later married Raymond Hotchkiss and blended his three children, Richard, Kim and Wendy with her own. Theirs was a large, active family.

John Ann was preceded in death by her son, Russell Armstrong.  She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Kelsoe and well as her grandchildren, Kacy Kelsoe Wozniak, Kylie Kelsoe Lyles, Austin and Aaron Kelsoe, Aiden, Griffin and Kennedy Armstrong.

There will be a Memorial Service 10:00 am, Monday, September 18, 2023, in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the SPCA.
