John Delson LaBelle, 84, of Sanger, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 9, 2017 surrounded by family. He was born on September 5, 1932 in Kansas City, KS. to John Thomas and Etta Grace (Morse) LaBelle. John married Betty Jo Lamon LaBelle in 1953.

John served in Air Force, and received the Korea Service Award.

He is current member of the Denton Baptist Temple. He retired from General Motors and was the music director as well as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon, and evangelist. Delson loved chess, cars, photography, music, bible study and above all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known for his wit, his charm and his strength of heart. Delson never met a stranger.

John is survived by his four daughters, Vicki Lynn Spitzengel and husband, Walter; Jolene Rene' Casey; Betty Sherree LaBelle and spouse, Wadella Nagai, Pennelope Sue Peebles and husband, Robert; son, John Delson LaBelle Jr.; sister, Jeannine Irene Marcus and husband, Gerald, brother, Frank Dexter LaBelle;  twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren and sweetheart, Diane Schuth

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Etta; wife of 40 years, Betty Jo; daughter, Suzette LaBelle and son, Melvin Jay LaBelle and grandson, Robert Cross.

Visitation will be held on Sunday August 13, 2017 from 2-4:00 P.M. Funeral service will be Monday August 14, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. both will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Little Elm Cemetery.
