John Pizzolato, Jr.

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of John Pizzolato, Jr., age 83, at his home in Corinth, Texas, on Father’s Day, June 21, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana on September 14, 1942, to John Pizzolato, Sr. and Mary Loyce Holman. John lived a life marked by steadiness, generosity and a warm presence that made others feel at ease. Those who knew him were better because of his example, and his influence will continue to live on in the lives of those he loved. He will be greatly missed.

John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda Pizzolato (Woods), of the home. He is also survived by his first wife, Betty LeGrone Gaspard, daughters Melanie Harden (Dean), and Stefanie Campesi (Craig); stepchildren Robert Cook (Erin) and Kimberly Silva (Blake); grandchildren Elton, Leigh, Conor, Kyle, Kayley, Sofia, Olivia and Riley; and great-grandchildren Collin and Nora. John is also survived by his sister, Patricia White (C.M.), nieces Lisa, Meghan and Ashley, and other beloved family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Troy Pizzolato, and his brother Thomas Pizzolato.

After graduating from Louisiana State University in 1964, John went to work for Ford Motor Company at their corporate headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. John retired from Ford in 2005, after a long and distinguished career.

John enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life. He had a passion for cars and loved riding on his Harley throughout the United States. Some of his most cherished memories were his rides with his friends and various motorcycle groups. He was also a devoted LSU Tigers fan. He and Linda loved to travel, and they were fortunate to experience a memorable journey to Italy and Sicily with his father and sister where a highlight was visiting the Vatican. He loved savoring Cajun food, and he was a big fan of Blue Bell Ice Cream. He also appreciated the simple pleasures of a cold beer and a good cigar, which he often enjoyed in the company of friends and family.

Though John will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the example he set will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
