John Allen Roberts 86 of Denton passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his home.  He was born January 20, 1932 in Malvern, Arkansas to Herbert Roberts and Bessie Katherine Rusher Roberts.  He graduated from Malvern High School in Arkansas.  He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from March 30, 1953 to March 29, 1955.  He married Marilyn Ann Russell on March 30, 1951 and later married Pat Caruthers in Denton on July 5, 1985.  They were members of the Towne North Baptist Church.

He was the Manager of the Plat Department for Denton County at the Time of his retirement.

John is survived by his wife, Pat Caruthers Roberts, son, Steve Allen Roberts daughters, Caren Caruthers Pankonien, Judy Caruthers Jost, Dilana Caruthers King, sisters, Katherine Ann Priest, Betty Louise Kimsey, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Angela Kaye Roberts, sister, Doris Virginia Coston and brother, Herbert Edward Roberts.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday Night from 6-8:00 P.M. for visitation.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ken Gray officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

The family has asked that memorials be made to the Towne North Baptist Church of Denton.
