Obituary

John Buford Street of Lewisville left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior August 31st, 2024, at his residence in Lewisville at the age of 70 years old. John was born March 20th, 1954, in Fort Worth, TX to Bob and Helen Mays Street. John was the first of two children God blessed their union with before Helen's passing at a young age.

After John's mother passed away, he lived with his grandparents Herman and Lena McAllister Mays in Mason, TX where he often spent summers working on the ranch of family friends Dick and Lila Jo Polk with their children Richard and Cara Polk who he loved like adopted siblings and remained close with throughout their lives. John was a 1972 graduate of Mason High where he was a proud Mason Puncher and loved living in Mason where he was close with friends Craig Chew, Rimmer Fowler, Warren Grote, and participated on the cross-country team.

John then attended college at the North Texas State University, now the University of North Texas, where he studied business and was a 1976 graduate with a degree in business management.

John then worked in several management and supervisory roles in various north Texas area businesses for the rest of his life to include Arrow Industries, Fastenall, Home Depot, Lowes, and most recently Advance Auto Parts.

John attended services at several area churches thru the years to include First Methodist of Haslet and Central Baptist of Lewisville.

John enjoyed several hobbies throughout his life including woodworking, scuba diving, motorcycling, auto repair, travel, hunting and firearms, homebrewing beer, candle making, and country music. John also served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Haslet VFD.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and former spouse Martha Valdez. He is survived by his sister Nancy Porter Street, stepmother Jacquiline Street, stepsister Beverly Temple, former spouses Kulinda Borchardt Street of Little Elm, TX, Vicki Copeland of Corinth, TX, sons Brian Street and wife Deborah Street of Little Elm, TX, Bobby Street of Lewisville, TX, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild as well as a host of other family and friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Denton County LOSS Team at dentoncountylossteam.org or the Texas Coalition For Animal Protection at texasforthem.org

There will be an open visitation at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton this Sunday September 8th, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm where the family will receive those wishing to pay respects. Following this the family extends further invitation for a celebration of life gathering at the Denton County Brewing Company from 4pm until concluded where we will gather to share beloved memories as well. Following John's wishes, he will be cremated and interred at a later date with his mother and grandparents at the Gooch Cemetery in the new section. Please update his son Brian Street or his sister Nancy Street Porter with your contact information if they do not already have it if you wish to be notified for the graveside service in Mason, TX which we currently expect to be an early October date.
