Jon David Hayden, 47,  passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Burleson, Texas. Jon was born on November 1, 1966 in Port Hueneme, California to Robert Theobald and Nancy Hayden Theobald. Jon married Johanna Sheryce Haygood on May 29, 1998 in Denton, Texas. Jon graduated from the University of North Texas and obtained a Masters Degree from Duke University. He traveled the world and visited over 27 countries. He served his country as a Protocol Specialist in the United States Army, working at several Major Commands in the service of the General's Staff,  and was honorably discharged.  Jon went on to serve his country as a Civil Service employee for the Department of Defense at US Southern Command in Miami Florida.  He was a scholar, adventurer, artist,  patriot, a faithful servant to his church, and a loving husband, father and friend.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Wednesday, March 19 from 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Calvary Church on Sherman Drive in Denton at 10:00 am, Burial will follow at the DFW National Cemetery. Dr. Paul Haygood will officiate. Memorial services will be held at Southern Command in Miami, Florida at a later date.

Jon is survived by his wife, Johanna Hayden; daughter, Elena Grace Hayden; son, Grant Alexander Hayden; Father, Robert Theobald; mother, Nancy Theobald; and sister, Jacqueline Sirmon.
