Joseph William Rogers, 60, of Denton, Texas passed away in Denton on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born February 15, 1961 in Denton to Richard Burnell Rogers and Vera Louise Shockey Rogers.
Joseph continued his education and love of music by receiving an Associate's Degree in Music and Biblical Studies of Christ for The Nations Institute in 2004. Joseph was a long-time member of the Assembly of God Church and worked as a Detention Officer for the Denton County Sheriff's Office. On April 26, 1991, he married the love of his life, Ellen Gayle Sprabary and together they had two children, Hannah and Jacob. He also had one granddaughter, Hazel Grace, which was the joy of his life and he called her his little "Hazel-nut". This year they celebrated 30 years of marriage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Rogers, daughter, Hannah Rogers, son, Jacob Rogers and granddaughter, Hazel Grace. He is also survived by his Aunt Jean and Jimmy Rogers, niece, Stormy Splawn, great niece, Brittney Splawn, great nephew Randy Splawn, Jr., 3 great great nephews and many cousins that were more like brothers and sisters than cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Graveside service will be Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:30 A.M.
